GUIDANCE OFFICE
As one of the student services under the OTEGS in the college level, guidance services are provided for to
facilitate the understanding of each individual’s uniqueness thus helping him work towards wholeness and
wellness.
Guidance services and programs shall be instrumental in the development of DLSAU students who are
well-integrated Christians, ethical, socially-concerned citizens, and achievers in he services of God and
country.
GENERAL OBJECTIVE
- To design a guidance program congruent with the university’s mission statement and the objectives of the institution.
- To implement services and develop guidance activities catering to the needs of the students and the
whole school community as well.
- To facilitate the implementation of the following services relative to the other services provided by
the OTEGS for every school year:
- Counseling
- Specialized Group Guidance Programs
- Testing
- Individual Inventory
- Research and Evaluation
- Placement and Referral
GOALS
- Provide opportunities for maximum development of the whole person-physically, socially, emotionally, intellectually as well as spiritually.
- Counsel students individually using appropriate theories and techniques.
- Provide appropriate developmental, preventive and remedial guidance, and counseling programs and services in response to the needs of the academic community, especially students.
- Facilitate student’s awareness and understanding of themselves
- Empower students to explore and maximize their potentials to achieve their goals.
- Help students cope with personal, academic and career concerns.
- Assist faculty and administration in improving the learning environment to help our students succeed.
