MEDICAL AND DENTAL SERVICES

 

The Medical and Dental Health Services is located at the second Floor of LSB Building in front of the Personnel Office. The Clinic is air conditioned, well lighted, well ventilated and equipped with complete medical dental equipment as well as basic medicines needed by students, faculty and university personnel.

It has been accredited by the Department of Health and the Bureau of Dental Health Services for having complied with the rules, regulations and standard requirements for private school health services.

The Medical and Dental has the following objectives:

  1. to attend to the medical and dental needs of the students, faculty members and employees.
  2. to look after the physical well being of the students, faculty members and employees of the university.
  3. to conduct medical and dental examination of the students, faculty and employees, as required by the Republic Act 95 1.
  4. to identify dental diseases and to provide preventive, corrective and or remedial measures as may be necessary to correct such dental defects as early possible.
  5. to encourage good health practices including dental and oral cleanliness as basic foundation in dental health hygiene.

Services Offered:

In line with the above objectives, the Medical and Dental health services offers the following services:

Medical

  1. Free medical consultation for bonafide students, faculty and employees and any necessary follow up.
  2. Emergency treatment. These are unforeseen combination of circumstances that calls for an immediate action.
    • Examples are:
    • Wounds
    • Bruises
    • Contusions
    • Fractures
    • Asthma Allergy attack which can be fatal
  3. Physical examination of applicants, athletes and student assistants.
  4. Issuance of medical certificate and excuse slips.
  5. Basic medications for colds, fever, dysmennorhea, stomach pain, headache, tooth ache, diarrhea and etc.
  6. Inter agency referrals and hospital conduction (patients are referred to the nearest hospital after giving first aid).
  7. Facilitate anti rabies vaccination to Veterinary Medicine students (Clinicians).
  8. Medical facilities includes a ward for temporary confinement, blood pressure apparatus for BP monitoring, Oxygen Tank, Nebulizer and Vaporizer for those suffering from sudden asthma.

Dental

  1. Routine Oral and Dental Examination.
  2. Premedication for tooth infection before extraction.
  3. Emergency Treatment. This refers to any dental treatment of dental conditions that may impair the academic activity of students during school hours.
  4. Dental Extraction.
  5. Treatment for Stomatis, oral thrush (singaw) and gingivitis.
  6. Interceptive tooth filling for savable tooth.
  7. Tooth scaling (cas of periodontal diseases).
  8. Control secondary or post extraction hemorrhage.
  9. Referral cases that require intensive treatment like RCT. Surgery and Orthodontics.
