STUDENT AFFAIRS OFFICE

The Office of Student Affairs as part of the Academic Support Offices caters directly to the needs of the DLS AU students. It implements university programs, policies, rules and regulations insofar as student activities, development and welfare of the students are concerned.

The OSA through its Student Discipline Committee investigates cases filed against erring students for any violation of the provisions of the Revised Code of Discipline and the University Rules and Regulations.

The OSA monitors, supervises, and regulates the operation and activities of duly recognized and accredited student organizations and coordinates with external institutions of off campus participation. It also works coordination with all sectors of the academic community.

This office issues certifications of good moral character and referrals for employment. The units under this office are the following: Athletic and Sports Development, Student Activities, Student Development, Cultural Affairs, Department of Military Science and Tactics (DMST) and the dormitory. Each unit has its own functions.

VISION

The Office of Student Affairs hopes to pursue and achieve:

  1. The OSA way: where everyone takes initiatives to pursue its mission and supports its values.
  2. The Aranetan Philosophy and Lasallian charisma: where everyone is involved in inculcating and teaching these dual formative traits.
  3. Good management systems: where management and the use of information technology is at par with the best education institutions all over the world.
  4. Cooperatives: where continuous collaborative efforts exists with the academic and support functions of the University; the parents, feeder high schools, barangays and administrators, towards the holistic development of students.
  5. Continuous Development and Management: where everyone continuous learn how to responsively serve betters our clientele through constant improvement of practices and innovative measures.
  6. Personal Fulfillment: where everyone finds fulfillment and meaning in his work and takes pride in being part of OSA and the De La Salle Araneta University.

MISSION

The mission of the Office of the Student Affairs, De La Salle - Araneta University is to work:

  1. In having a humane, Christian and well-balanced campus atmosphere and environment.
  2. In giving formative and educative co-curricular and extra curricular programs and services.
  3. In facilitating and enhancing the holistic development of students, physically, socially, culturally, emotionally, intellectually, professionally and spiritually... towards becoming a Lasallian achievers for God and Country.

In pursuing this mission, the Office of the Student Affairs subscribes to the values of:

  1. Team building [building teamwork] in an atmosphere of trust, conficence, personal affirmation, dialogue, and open communication.
  2. Giving a Lasallian service inspired by the ideals and philosophy, life and charisma of Don Salvador Z. Araneta and St. John Baptist De La Salle.
  3. Striving for excellence through continuous development, improvement, innovation and change in consonance with the students' needs while using to the full our resources and facilities. Showing concern for the persons [students] through steady and constant recognition and a chance for every student to be hear.

STUDENT RELATED SERVICES

  1. Cultural Arts Unit (CAU) - This unit cultivates the innate talents of artistically inclined students through different cultural activities such as dance, music, visual arts.
  2. Discipline Office - is responsible for promoting student discipline, for ensuring the safety and welfare of students, and for maintaining peace, order and cleanliness in the university.
                               -To ensure proper implementation of university rules and regulations.
  3. Career - preparation of students for the world of work.
  4. Student Activities Unit - takes charge of ensuring smooth and well balanced implementation of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities of the different student groups.
  5. ROTC - Its primary role is to train and develop students in the rudiments of military service and to produce students who are nationalistic , responsible individuals in service for God and Country.
  6. Student Development Unit - its role is to implement programs that promote self-sustaining grounds and positive influences towards wholeness of the students.
  7. Sports - responsible for the development and implementation of the University’s sports program.
